Grilled barbeque chicken with grilled polenta and corn. Kind of an odd combo

I'm sure glad some of us got dinner tonight. I ended up making a salad and used the pork in the salad. Nothing stupendous but it satisfied.

We're grilling baconwrapped turkey tenderloins tonight. Have leftover four bean salad and parmesan potato salad. Plus I'll make a fresh fruit salad.

The days for fresh fruit salads are winding down. Soon apple season will be upon us.

Grilled bbq chicken thighs and green beans with bacon balsamic vinegrette. We also had potato chips. It's Bible study night so that's all I could handle.

I admire you for your consistent use of bacon.

Green salad, sausage patties, scrambled eggs with onion, garlic and green pepper, steamed red potatoes. I just cooked whatever sounded good.

Taco Soup and tortilla chips Monday night.

We had lasagna and french bread Tuesday night for supper.

Last night I threw together a soup with leftover pork roast, cheese & cracker tray, bread rolls & butter.

We may have breakfast for supper tonight (French toast and sausage?).

I just got up the courage to purchase a rice cooker I have had my eyes on for over 6 months. (YAY! I could not have spend $20 better IMO) So dinner has changed to Arroz con Pollo, (rice with chicken) With saffron rice, and garlic!

Was away for a long weekend - had a bbq Sunday, a cottage pie dinner Monday, can't remember Friday or Saturday, the day I came back (Tuesday) my daughter made a pork casserole. Last night we had shepherds pie that my son made. Tonight we had baked trout fillets (got lucky at the supermarket - they were reduced from £4 to £1.20 per pack of 2), mixed salad veggies, coleslaw, new potatoes (tinned ones though) :)

What?!? I've never noticed.

I was raised on an Iowa hog farm.

I think all the bad press about bacon is hogwash. In moderation bacon is wonderful. Yes, consistent can still be moderate.

A cousin recently gave me a steamed summer squash/zucchini recipe that includes bacon. It was wonderful. Another bacon recipe to add to my repertoire.

P.S. I'd never noticed they had a pig smiley. Wonders never cease.

I have a hankerin' for chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, cream gravy, and corn on the cob. We'll see how ambitious I feel when I get off work at 6.

Breakfast! Potatoes O'Brien and eggs. I need to buy some meat with it though...perhaps corned beef or turkey bacon.

My son loves turkey bacon. In fact, I bought regular bacon and used it for dinner this week. He was disappointed.

Turkey bacon?

lol! Yup. Turkey bacon. Every once in awhile I splurge and get the one from Whole Foods. No nitrates. It doesn't quite crisp up as nicely but it's good enough for me.
