Hi!

I like having people to check in with for my exercise. It helps me stay on track.

So if you would like someone to check in with your exercise, we can encourage each other.

reach -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/6/2009 11:58:23 AM)

I have not gotten to the gym in the past week. I have not been consistant with the gym for about a month. Just too much going on. So now, no more excuses.

I packed my gym bag and I a going to the gym tonight!

Miss Giggles -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/6/2009 12:05:19 PM)

I've gotten 6 days in a row!

Hislittleone -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/6/2009 3:00:18 PM)

I like the idea of this thread. Last week I only did 5 days when I'm supposed to do 6. I'm determined that this week I'll meet my goal.

Good for you Miss Giggles!

Reach, let us know if you make it today.[:)]

SurpassingPeace -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/6/2009 5:43:37 PM)

This is a great idea. Last week I got in 4 days. I am aiming for at least 4 days a week and 5-6 would be great. My husband got out of court early today so he dropped in to be with the babies so I could run. I think that is what gets so frustrating, it is not just motivating myself but I am dependent on some many other people's schedules. First I have two littles, one of which is newborn, so if they are having a bad day then the gym is out. Then I have to have my mom or husband be availble. Okay that is whining a bit but I am really motivated right now and I want to take advantage of that.

Good thread. Thanks for starting it. I need to get in to the gym today. I'm debating if I want to nap, and than go or go, and than nap. Either way I need to go. I have found that keeping a log of my workouts helps a LOT. I try to do 6 days a week: 3 of weight traning with bike work. 3 of walking/running.

Hi Karen,
My kids are older-so needing a sitter to go the gym is a non issue for me-BUT....when I started out they weren't quite old enough to leave them so I could exercise.

I have a mini-stepper, dumbells, and resistance bands @ home. They take up very little space-but can help me squeeze in a good workout. A few exercsie DVDs would be a help too.

Where there's a will, there's a way.

Keep up the good work ladies!

allisonbrett -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/7/2009 5:08:17 PM)

Just started back working out. Thankfully I have enough gym equipment in my workout room I don't need to go anywhere. Did too much last night and really strained my right knee. It's been swollen and tender all day. No soreness anywhere else though. Sad to think I won't do any cardio tonight (at least not standing up) due to my knee giving me such problems. May have to be inventive tonight. Hm.... I do have an unopened yoga workout video now that I think about it.

reach -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/8/2009 2:10:21 AM)

OK, so I got to the gym on Monday. Today no gym because I had a meeting for my reunion. My goal is something everyday, but to exercise 5 times a week.

DeeAnnBailey -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/10/2009 9:20:35 AM)

I've exercised 3 out of 4 days so far this week (Mon, Tues, Thurs) and plan to go when I get off work today. I need to get back in an exercise routine! I need to lose at least 25 pounds and KEEP IT OFF!!!

I like this thread!

SurpassingPeace -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/10/2009 2:17:35 PM)

I ran two miles today and it was relatively easy so one or two more runs at 2 miles then I am going for the 5K distance. I love running but building back up is HARD.

myhusbandswife76 -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/10/2009 11:18:12 PM)

No gym for me this week. I was so busy herding cats all week that I was to tired to think straight by the time I was done. [:@]

mytortie -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/11/2009 1:20:52 AM)

This is great. I haven't excerised that much in about two years. Maybe reading this thread will help to get me motivated again.

reach -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/11/2009 1:55:41 AM)

I had just about the worst, worst week in so long..... So only the one day so far at the gym. Ugh! Next week can only be better.

SurpassingPeace -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/11/2009 2:17:03 PM)

I did 2 miles running today and then a friend came in and I ended up walking another 1.75 miles. It is time to move up the next level of 3 miles. I am going to do resistence training tomorrow and if the kids don't tear the house down around dh, I will run again. Today makes 4 days at the gym which is great.

mytortie -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/13/2009 5:46:21 PM)

I haven't started exercising yet but I know it's going to soon become a reality, I just know it it is. [&o]

Hislittleone -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/13/2009 5:57:16 PM)

I did 3 days of bike riding and 2 days of strength/toning last week. Not bad but my goal was to get in 6 days of exercise.

This weeks not starting out well because I'm sooooo tired and can hardly stand up and really don't feel like exercising. Somehow I'm going to have to push myself to do it though.

SurpassingPeace -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/14/2009 2:41:23 PM)

I don't want to run today. I am tired and draggy. The baby has been a wild ride lately. But I am going to drag myself to the gym and go for 3 miles. I think I can do it, I hope I can. Even if I just do 2 it will feel great. But again, I would like to state.. I don't want to today.

Karen

Miss Giggles -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/14/2009 2:43:53 PM)

I am tired too.. yesterday was my rest day.. took an hour nap.

Today is a walking day. I should pack my stuff for tomorrow cause I really like the spin class after work.. I just have to do that later.

SurpassingPeace -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/15/2009 7:33:18 AM)

I did it, I ran three miles. The neat thing is I could have ran more. I am so happy.

myhusbandswife76 -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/15/2009 3:30:20 PM)

Remember the key is to not do to much to soon. That one always gets me in trouble. [:)]

truthrevealed -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/15/2009 4:17:18 PM)

Great thread Reach. Don't know how consistent I'll be with checking in[&o] but today was the first day I've exercised this week[&:]. I've been slacking---going from 5 days 45 mins to 1 1/2 hrs(lost 17 lbs in 3 months[:D]) to tapering off to 3-5 times a week 30-45 mins.

I'm not really trying to loose more(well, yeah about 7 more lbs that my Dh doesn't think is necessary) but tone up legs, abs, arms and I think that's why I've slacked off. I gave myself until next summer to be "bikini ready" and that just means having the OPTION to where one if I wanted to[;)], not that I'd necessarily do it......

Maybe I'll be inspired to kick it back up with this thread[:)]

Hislittleone -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/15/2009 5:01:07 PM)

Doing good so far this week. I pushed myself to exercise on Monday and am glad I did. [:)] So far I've done one ride and one day of strength/toning. Today I'll do my second day of strength/toning.

42servehymn -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/15/2009 10:25:07 PM)

I LOVE this thread and I hope to post often. I have not exercised consistently in a few years. I have been getting back on my bike again and it feels great! Last week on my day off I really wanted to take a ride but it was supposed to be in the mid 90's. So I got up at 5:30 in the morning and biked 13 miles. It was pretty cool out still and I got to spend the whole day knowing that I had done something really healthy for myself. Today I got up early and walked two miles before work and after work I biked 4 miles.

FAWIHTT -> RE: Exercise Check In (7/16/2009 10:01:52 AM)

Off to walk 10.2 Miles with the kids......
