I was having a serious case of the blues last night and had been complaining about a work situation...my husband said "be quiet and just kiss me" *swoon* and then he prayed with me and reminded me of all I have to be thankful for. I don't deserve him, but I'm pretty thankful/thrilled he's mine for life. <3

I just wanted to say that I am VERY proud of my husband. Back in February he went to the doctor with health concerns and had a blood pressure reading of 165/95 and a cholesterol level of 266. The doctor wanted him on prescription medication but neither of us wanted to do that. We worked together to revamp our diet and exercise more often. He went for a follow up appointment yesterday. His blood pressure is 130/85 and cholesterol is 243. His weight is down about 15 pounds. That was not a goal but is certainly a good thing! Way to go hubby!

I love watching the way m'love interacts with his sons. The guys are grown and they have a good time chatting and laughing together.

My husband know I have been trying to fill up this water jug with change for 3 years but there is always someone who calls and needs money for some dramatic event and it's emptied al over again. So for mother's day his filled this ornate box with 400 gold dollar coins. It made me melt even though I had to use it for the bills the next week

I am a professional caregiver and I have been working with a 97 year old lady for about a year now. She recently got admitted to the hospital and will be going to a facility from the hospital. She has a very sweet kitty that I have grown very fond of over the last year. I have been going to the house to care for the cat for the last week. I have been trying to find a home for Miss Kitty for the last week as it was my understanding that she would be going to the pound if no home was found. My heart has been breaking all week as I have visited the cat and she cries for her mom. This little lady never leaves home so the cat has not been alone. My husband is not a cat person nor am I really but today he sent me a message and said if no one would take Miss Kitty I could bring her home. This was such a selfless offer on his part that it truly melted my heart. As it turns out Miss Kitty is going to be able to go to the facility with her mom and I am greatly relieved. Tomorrow I will be at the house trying to get Miss Kitty into a crate for transport. Hopefully that will go smoothly!

OK, ladies, lets not get this thread lost behind all the sad threads. I often refer guys to this thread when they ask, what does it take to please a woman. It is interesting that sometimes it is a gesture that they might not even think of as romantic, yet it makes us melt. The latest thing m'love has done is take me to meet his new boss his first day in. That is not something we would typically do or could do and it took me by surprise, but it was pleasant to spend the day with him as he met his new co-workers and explored the new surroundings.

We pretty much stopped drinking our lovely soda about six months ago in order to be healthy. Last night DH went into a kitchen and came out with a coffee cup with my *favorite* soda in it as a surprise. It was sooooooo good. He had bought it earlier in the day without me knowing about it!!

Even though m'love might have been just fine vegging out on the couch last night, we went for a walk on the beach. We both enjoyed it a great deal. Yes there were some pretty girls in bikinis on the beach but if they caught his eye he didn't make a big deal about it. And he smiled when I took off my t-shirt to walk around in my bathing suit.

I love this thread!!! I have a few on the top of my head: 1.)One day I was at work having a really tough day, and just as I was beginning to feel sorry for myself, my husband called me at work and told me how much he missed me and how proud he was of me and all that I do! He started joking with me and made me laugh and smile. It made my whole day and I forgot all about the ****py day I was having! 2.) Several times in our (short, year and a half) marriage, he'd notice me being stressed about getting the house clean and I would come home to a SPOTLESS house with flowers, and romantic card waiting for me! That made me melt for sure! 3.) I bought the Love Dare for me and my husband (a year long version), and he has been sooo good to read it with me every day, and tell me his thoughts on it! We didn't meet as Christian so this is a big deal! we're both new Christians! 4.) Almost every day for the past few weeks my husband would call me at work just to say good-night (I work graveyard), and the last few days he's stayed up with me for HOURS just chatting on the phone with me because he misses me. He even read the Bible with me over the phone!!! I'm so blessed!!

as a guy, I am definitely taking notes. And I would LOVE it, when the time comes and I have a wife, when I have the chance to do things like that, that I will get positive feedback on it! It's SO much easier doing kind and thoughtful things like that when you know that they are remembered and appreciated. Your husbands are very fortunate to have wives like you! :-)

I'm newly married (3 month, this week). I don't do soy . . . it's a common seizure trigger. When we go grocery shopping, Brent will read the ingredient label on any item to make sure it doesn't contain soy. I've been reading ingredient labels for years (decades, actually), but this is the first time in my life that it has mattered to anyone else. It's so sweet! Even if I know that a particular item truly doesn't have soy, it doesn't matter to me that he reads the label. It's very wonderful to know that he cares so much for me and wants to protect me to the best of his ability (in this case, from seizures)

We had a lovely afternoon at the beach yesterday. A thunderstorm was coming, we could see it far and away. We played around in the water until it got closer than we headed back to the car. My even on the way back to the car, he was still pointing out things I'd find interesting, fish and birds and fishermen. He made sure I got past tricky areas to walk around, watching out for my safety and not just his. He is a good example of taking care of his wife as well as he would take care of himself.

Oh please oh please don't let this thread die. From seeing so many threads from a hurting spouse it is important that couples can see some of the simple ways that they can delight their sweetheart. When life is hard sometimes it takes something small to mean the world to their spouse. m'love is going to be traveling for business and is taking his free time to spend with me, since it will be awhile till we get face to face time again after he leaves.

My husband just came up to me out of the blue a couple of days ago and gave me a hug (which is normal), but then lifted me up off the floor and swung me around (NEVER happened before). It was funny and exciting. He even made a comment about how "light" I was. I've been working out and watching what I eat for about six months to lose an extra thirty pounds that I've accumulated over the years. It's been a slow process, since I didn't want to officially "diet", but rather just be healthier. So far, I lost twenty pounds. So, it really made me feel good that he noticed.

Many thing over the years: Buying flowere just because he saw them and thought of me. I love flowers. I hate cold: so during cold wether he always warms up the car for me. I am forgetful so: I never have to buy gas because he checks my car and fills it up as neded. He always keeps up with my appointments and reminds me. I'm a bad housekeeper so: When the house gets bad he just starts cleaning. (I don't work.) When the laundry gets pilled up he does his own clothing. He never complains if I do nothing all day and still forget to whatever he had ask me to do, even if it was very important. He lets me read everynight - all night if I want to - with the lamp on and insist that the light doesn't bother him. He has never ever complained about any money I have ever spent even if I spend too much and we can't pay an important billl on time. He just tells me not to worry about it. Lately I spent money shopping with my daughter that he had saved for work insurance and I know it was wrong. He told me not to get upset - it's only money - then told me to buy the new swimsuit that I needed even though I couldn't find an affordable one. He always puts my needs before his.

Once again he cleaned a nasty thing off of my computer. This time my lap-top's browser got hijacked. I researched for the best fix ( on a different computer) and he took care of seeing it through. He did the whole thing with a smile on his face and never blamed me for being careless. To this I say, never mind making eyes at the pool-boy, I'd rather romance my Tech-support guy.

My hours have pretty much doubled from what I was working. Hubby has stepped up in a big way with housework and cooking. When I get home at 10:45 pm most nights he has the house straightened up and a cool drink waiting for me. It has been nice with all the change and stress to not have to worry about what is happening on the homefront.

He went to the grocery store 3 times (and he hates going to almost any type of store) when I was very sick, to get the right food that I could finally eat. Love him!
