Last night we went to my folks' place to check up on the house (they're on vacation). DH asked me on Wednesday if I had the key handy, and I responded that I always keep it on my everyday key ring just in case. Last night, we got to their place and I pulled out my keys... no key. I then remembered that two years ago, I took off every key I didn't use often, including my parents' house key... which was safe in my night-table drawer.
DH didn't get angry or even annoyed. 
Either he chalked it up to pregnancy brain and let it go, or he was so busy reminiscing about a story he was telling me that he didn't have the brain space to get annoyed. Either way, I was glad for the get out of jail free card. Now that I've got the key back in my purse we'll go again on the weekend (it's a half-hour drive so it's not exactly handy).

my love is doing some tech work on my 'puter. It is flakey when it comes to recognizing the scanner. I've messed with drivers, etc but now it's up to the expert in the familiy to take care of it.

My dh melts my heart when...
-he, too, will pick up anything we need on his way home from work, even though he's exhausted.
-he's always concerned about my well being and the kids.
-he cleans the bathroom! (This is my least favorite thing in the whole world!)
-he plays with our kids. I love to hear them laughing together. Pure joy!
-he prays with our kids. It blesses me & makes me so thankful for him.
-occasionally he'll bring me a bouquet of flowers if he knows I'm not feeling well or to brighten my day.

Dh doesn't have much opportunity since he's out of the country, but two things he said over the phone made me feel loved and cared for
--We have a property that we had to file and appeal on the taxes for, and that requires going to court and demonstrating to a judge that the taxes are unfairly high. Dh did this for the last house, but he won't be here for this one. So I have to do it, and I do not want to do it and the thought of walking into a courtroom and dealing with the county's lawyer and convincing a judge terrifies me. I didn't tell him that, but he picked up on it and did his best to encourage me, told me not to be scared, that it's an easy win (he's right, it is), and that there's even parking at the courthouse so I won't have to wander around the city looking for a parking spot. The reason this is a big deal to me is that he's not an emotionally intuitive person and doesn't use encouraging words very often. So that he picked up on every single one of my anxieties regarding this, and made the effort to help me feel better is a big deal to me.
--He asked me to start researching prices for his ticket home. This is the guy who bought his plane ticket to Ethiopia just a few weeks before departure, and until the ticket was purchased, we weren't even sure he was going.  That kind of uncertainty and last-minute operating drives me absolutely up the wall. It is a huge relief for me to know he's got a date set to come home, and a ticket purchased, and I can mark that day on the calendar.

My husband knows I'm a guitar player and a fan of a particular band...tonight he ordered an autographed guitar for me...for my b-day...
he brings me coffee.
he empties the dishwasher
he hugs and cuddles the little ones
he takes teenytiny to daycare in the mornings
he likes smooches at lunchtime (we work in the same building)
he sends me emails that say "I love you"
hmmm....yeah....

Our youngest just turned 2 and ended up sleeping with us the other night. In the middle of the night I feel my husband get out of bed and come around to my side, cuddle up behind me and say "I was missing you, just wanted to cuddle with you" I thought it was really sweet :)

We had a lot of family in town over the weekend for my baby shower, with several staying at our house. Brian was awesome and helped me so much. He did lots of chores - folded laundry, took out the trash, cleaned the kitchen many times, grilled burgers for dinner and made sure people were fed, entertained my dad while the women were occupied during the baby shower.... he just seemed to know what needed to be done and he did it.
It means SO much to me that he helps me out with straightening and cleaning and cooking, often without being asked. He actually looks for ways to help.

Mu DH made the bed with new clean sheets last night. I got upstairs and said "awww, you made the bed!" - to which he replied "Yes, I think this is worthy of posting in the melt thread"

I just got home from work and dh had the day off. He was off on a bike ride but the house had been straightened up and vacuumed and he opened the windows to let in some fresh air. Very welcoming!

This wasn't done for me but it was done in front of me and it made me melt to see it. My dh is right now suffering with bronchitis. He feels horrible, but he won't take anymore time off from work. He says if he does it just piles up on him and he has that much more work to do when he gets back. He came home from work this evening and I could tell he just felt miserable. Within a very few minutes he lay down in bed and started watching TV, and I was watching TV with him when our 17-yo dd came into our room with a long, thick ribbon around her neck, asking if we would show her how to tie a tie, just because she wanted to know how to do it. I don't know how, so I pointed at my husband and said, "That's his department." And my poor, sick husband got right up and very good-naturedly gave our daughter tie tying lessons! He was smiling while he did it and I think for those few minutes, he actually forgot all about being sick in spending a little time with our daughter.

Oh...let's see...he's outside in 90+ degree weather cleaning the gutters out and cleaning up the mess in the yard. He hasn't missed church or Bible study in over a month. He reaches over and rubs my back in my sleep (well, I'm not really all that asleep, I can feel it). He puts up with "my" dog (the big, exuberant ill trained puppy). He LOVES me!

My husband is just so amazing!!! There are so many things he does that makes me melt. Lately I have been noticing the wonderful self discpline/control he is trying to have. When I'm crabby he tries his best not to follow in my negative path and instead he does his best to make me laugh and smile. If he has to act silly he does :) Then I'm always busy with something and so it is super nice to go home and the house be cleaned and food ready! I love him!!! God truely can transform us!

I received a small inheritance from the sale of my dad's house, and I decided I wanted to use a part of it to buy a used piano. Dh took that ball and ran with it, researching kinds of pianos and looking on Craig's List to find the very best possible piano for what I could afford. And when he found that piano, he is willing to rent a truck, go to the people's house with my ds (who doesn't have a choice) and any other help he can recruit, get the piano, and put it in our house. That should happen as soon as today. He's an awesome hubby to go to all that trouble for me!

DH and I went to the nursery after church today and he bought 3 flats of annuals to plant in the backyard garden. It makes my heart melt to see him happy digging in the dirt and planting flowers. I am so glad that he has time for hobbies that make him happy despite a very busy schedule.

my new husband (only been married since the 1st May) steamed up the mirror in the bathroom on holiday and put lots of hearts on it that made me smile. He also rowed a boat with me in it from one end of the versaille lake to the other and wouldn't let me help at all.

Although he had just cycled for 2 hours home from work he still made the effort to be my gym partner last night at the gym. When we got home from the gym he made me dinner from scratch
